KOH BROTHERS WINS $79M SCHOOL DEAL

SINGAPORE builder Koh Brothers Building & Civil Engineering Contractor yesterday announced that it has clinched a $78.9 million deal from the Ministry of Education.

The contract is to build the River Valley High School and Hostel development at Boon Lay Avenue.

The firm, a unit of Koh Brothers Group, will build a range of teaching and hostel facilities starting this month.

The project is due for completion by August 2009.

ARA EARNINGS RISE A FIFTH TO $11M

ASIAN real estate fund manager ARA Asset Management yesterday posted a 19 per cent rise in net profits to $11.4 million for the nine months ended Sept 30.

Total revenue stood at $26.6 million, up 18 per cent.

Total assets shot up 43 per cent year-on-year to US$6.1 billion (S$8.8 billion) as at Sept 30. This is because of the strong increases in the group's real estate investment trust (Reit) portfolio, which includes Suntec Reit.

BEYONICS PROFIT HALVES TO $3.6M

CONTRACT manufacturing firm Beyonics Technology yesterday posted a sharp 48 per cent drop in its first-quarter net profit to $3.6 million.

Hit by lower revenue from the electronic manufacturing services sector and adverse exchange rates, its revenue slid by 12.7 per cent to $214 million for the period ended Oct 31.

Earnings per share in the first quarter declined to 0.68 cent from 1.32 cents.

WHEELOCK UPS SC GLOBAL STAKE

UPMARKET developer Wheelock Properties yesterday increased its stake in SC Global by purchasing 3.6 million shares on the open market.

Through its unit, Ardesia Developments, Wheelock has increased its interest in SC Global from 11.09 per cent to 12.01 per cent.
